Distance from Delhi to Manali is very huge so better if you start your journey from Chandigarh to Manali. Take HPTDC or HRTC volvo. I would personally suggest a train to Chandigarh and then the rest of the journey by bus/taxi because I find the train journey to be more comfortable than a journey with other vehicles.
